4 days left!!

Only four days of work left!! Woohoo!! This week is going to be great! Today was great...even though the boys were still rowdy it wasn't as bad cos there weren't that many of them! I only have two kids in the morning and two in the afternoon now. I'm going to get an extra student Wed. afternoon but it'll just be a one-time thing. It's so easy now...I'm lovin it!

This time next week I will be back in K-town! I can't believe summer passed by so quickly...I'm looking forward to going back. It'll be nice to see people again teehee. I think this is probably the best summer I've had...minus that accident I had with my parent's car...and uh that time I set the oven on fire. I didn't get to see my friends here as much but I've had some great experiences. I really hope there will be electricity in Kingston when I go back. We already have enough trouble with electricity and fuses as it is.

I got a hair cut...my hair is now more layered in the front and more evened out in the back. I also have semi-long bangs which I like. They'll probably become really annoying when I have to study...So far I've only read one chapter of philosophy and Italian. I don't think I'll be able to read them before I go back. I was also supposed to study some C++. Sigh. Ah well.

BC Day

Ahhhh....I'm enjoying my day off so very much. Hurray for BC Day! This is the first time I've gotten enough sleep in weeks! It's only 10 AM...hmmm...the plan for today: lounging. Yup that sounds good to me. I'm going to lounge around all day...vegetate for a while...and maybe collect a little dust.

What's The Worst Day Of The Week...

It is Monday today...and it really felt like a Monday. For the first time this morning, I didn't really feel like going to work. Bah. It was alright though. I got paid!! Hurray!! At least something good happened today. One of my students kept asking me during lunch break if her stomach was 'normal', cos she thinks it's big. Haha! She's eight years old. I think it's so funny when kids that young are so concerned about their body. Hmm...I wonder if that is normal. I remember when one of my cousins was six, she refused to eat junk food cos she didn't want to get fat. I was flabbergasted.

It's sooooooooo hot! When is it going to get cooler? Hehehe...today I taught my afternoon kids the word 'seize'. They had to make sentences; and one of them said, "The underwear seized the bum!" Hahaha...they're so silly sometimes.

"Whenever you're called on to make up your mind,
and you're hampered by not having any,
the best way to solve the dilemma, you'll find,
is simply by spinning a penny.
No - not so that chance shall decide the affair
while you're passively standing there moping;
but the moment the penny is up in the air,
you suddenly know what you're hoping."

Hehe.

Crazy People

I am afraid to drive around my neighbourhood with my windows rolled down. Why? Because there are stupid, inconsiderate idiots who like to throw paintballs at passing cars. A little while ago, a man was driving when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in one of his eyeballs and had to pull over. Turns out, a paintball had flown in through his open window and hit his eye. He is now blind in his right eye. It makes me soooo angry, because those kids probably don't know what they did. Grrrr... There are so many crazy people in this world who for some reason like to inflict pain onto other innocent people. Like that time me and Jo were at White Rock and these kids were throwing baseball-sized rocks at people on the walkway...it was like a meteor rock shower!! I almost died. Ugh...these people make me sick.

Aquarium!

The school I'm working for went on an excursion today...to the Vancouver Aquarium! Good times says I. =) We saw the Beluga whale show, but didn't have time for any other shows as we didn't get there until 11 due to typical, horrible traffic in Vancouver. And we had to leave at 1:45 in order to get back in time. It was kinda crazy...so many kids. Every teacher/supervisor was supposed to watched only a couple of kids...but for some reason my helpers kept disappearing. Seven of my kids went...and they were all very good today...very cute. The girls were super attached to me. LOL.

I really need to a develope a routine for my classes, starting next week. I'm going to get two more students...which means on Monday and Wednesday mornings I'll have 7! Craaazy. I really hope they hire a new teacher soon...cos I think my class is one of the smaller ones. A couple of the other classes have up to 9 or 10 kids. For those of you who don't know, the school I'm teaching at is a Montessori school. Some of the kids I have in my classes are at different levels. So it is kinda like tutoring multiple people at the same time. It can be really stressful and frustrating...hopping back and forth, trying to keep everyone occupied.

I can't believe it's already been three weeks! Which means, five weeks left! 37 days...=)

MONEY

It can buy a House
But not a Home

It can buy a Bed
But not Sleep

It can buy a Clock
But not Time

It can buy you a Book
But not Knowledge

It can buy you a Position
But not Respect

It can buy you Medicine
But not Health

It can buy you Blood
But not Life

It can buy you Sex
But not Love

So you see money isn't everything.

And it often causes pain and suffering.

I tell you all this because
I am your Friend and as your Friend
I want to take away your pain and suffering...

So send me all your money
and I will suffer for you.

I ACCEPT CASH, MONEY ORDERS, PERSONAL CHECKS, CASHIERS CHECKS, BAGS OF GOLD, BARS OF PLATINUM, ETC.ETC. PLEASE: NO CHILDREN AS PAYMENTS. THEY WILL BE RETURNED....

rule of life
Never think that anyone's better than you, and never think that you are better than anyone else.

quote of the moment
Life is about change. Sometimes it's painful, sometimes it's beautiful, but most of the time, it's both.
